FAQ: Guest Licensing Update for Pro Accounts (April 2017)

Help Center > Articles > Account and Billing

Q. What is the change to the guest licensing policy?

Currently, a single-team guest can belong to one team and any number of that team's sub-teams. The new guest licensing policy will require a user license for any guest that belongs to more than one team or sub-team.

Q. When will the new guest licensing policy take effect?

All organizations in the current Pro plan will be subject to the new guest licensing policy starting April 12, 2017.

Q. Will I be forced to buy user licenses for all multi-team guests (that didn't previously require a license) on April 12?

No. You can continue working with everyone in your organization without disruption, but you will be prompted to buy user licenses for all unlicensed multi-team guests when you do one of the following:

  • add a new member to your organization
  • add a new multi-team guest (by adding a single-team guest to a new team or sub-team)

Q. What is a single-team guest?

A single-team guest is a person who belongs to ONE team or sub-team.

Q. What is a multi-team guest?

A multi-team guest is a person who belongs to more than one team or sub-team.
